WHAT: The RMSC’s Museum and Cumming Nature Center (CNC) are hosting three Halloween-themed events over the next two weeks with offerings for visitors of all ages. See below for information about these three events.

The Forest After Dark - October 23, 6-9pm 

Location: RMSC’s Cumming Nature Center

Join staff at CNC for a not-so-scary night hike to get a rare, after-hours look at CNC’s trails. Guests will walk a half-mile loop where they’ll meet a cast of characters who help guests discover the secrets of nocturnal life and explore their own sensory skills.

Participants will move through interpreter-led stations along the trail. Hot cider and donuts will be available for purchase at the end of the hike.

RMSC After Dark: Monster Bash - October 29, 7-11pm

Location: RMSC’s Museum

Staff at RMSC’s Museum are throwing the 21+ Halloween event of the season: RMSC After Dark: Monster Bash! On Friday, October 29, guests can explore the museum and enjoy a night full of mysterious demonstrations, spooky tunes, and deviously delicious treats. Themed cash bars and yummy treats from Chef's Catering Food Truck will be available throughout the night. 

Guests can enjoy a variety of spooky, science-themed activities, including:

• Dance floor with music curated by DJ Serrano
• Demonstrations and displays from the Center for Biological Diversity, Rochester LEGO User Group and Maker Faire Rochester
• Late-night moon viewing (weather dependent)
• VeRacity VRcade
• Live Science and Electricity Theater demonstrations
• Laser Light shows at the Strasenburgh Planetarium.
• A costume contest at the end of the night

Family Fun Day: Tricks & Treats - October 31, 11-3pm

Location: RMSC’s Museum

Visit the RMSC on Halloween for some fun science tricks and delicious treats. Guests are encouraged to come in costume and explore their favorite RMSC exhibits while stopping at trick or treat stations around the museum. 

During the event, guests can look also forward to:

• Making Eyeball Slime
• Watching Spooky Science Demonstrations
• Experimenting with potion bottles
• Creating a Flying Ghost in a Cup
• Meeting Larry the H20 Hero
• And more!
