Celebrate Columbus Day Weekend with the Science that Made History at RMSC

ROCHESTER, NY—Visitors to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC) during Columbus Day weekend discover a “new world” of knowledge at the Science that Made History program. Guests learn, hands-on, how science transformed from ancient times through the Industrial Revolution. The event takes place from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, October 8 through Monday, October 10.

During the fun-filled family event, guests make their own sextant to navigate the stars, encounter simple machines, experiment with Newton’s law and more. Guests also explore questions including: What did Ben Franklin do with the kite and the key?; How can you figure out if a coin is made of gold with just a bucket of water?; and Why was Galileo imprisoned for life for saying the Sun was the center of the solar system?

The Science that Made History program is free with regular museum admission: $13 adults, $12 seniors and college students with ID, $11 ages 3 to 18, free for children under 3 and RMSC members. For group reservations and rates, call 585.697.1942.
